Our Favorite Anti-Aging Hacks
Want to feel a little pep in your step? Anti-aging is all about looking — and feeling — more youthful. Read on to learn our favorite anti-aging hacks and how we can help you on the quest for youth.

After your anti-aging treatments at the Philadelphia Center for Anti-Aging, you might have one question on your mind: How do you maintain those results?

Well, there’s good news. The right strategies can help you biohack your way to your youthful glow. Biohacking your body refers to making small, science-backed tweaks to your lifestyle that boost your physical and mental performance.

Read on as Stephen Ficchi, DO shares eight simple anti-aging hacks that are simple yet powerful ways to feel your best at any age.

1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

Water is your skin's best friend. Staying hydrated keeps your skin plump, reduces the appearance of fine lines, and helps your body flush out toxins.

Most people know they need to drink at least eight glasses of water a day (plus  more if they work out, use a sauna, or visit a hot climate.) What most people don’t know is that men actually need 15.5 cups of fluid each day, and women need 11.5 cups.

Here are our top hacks for staying hydrated:

  • Carry a refillable water bottle with you
  • Add hydrating foods like cucumber and watermelon to your diet
  • Add fresh herbs, lemon slices, or berries to your water
  • Consume nutrient-dense fluids, including bone broth

Bone broth in particular provides an anti-aging punch. Not only does it help hydrate you, but it also provides collagen, a protein that helps keep your skin smooth and elastic.

2. Get enough collagen

You can eat collagen-rich foods like bone broth, add scoops of collagen powder into your smoothie, or use collagen to make homemade gummies.

You can also use retinoids and vitamin C serums to encourage your body to boost its own collagen production.

3. Get antioxidants in two days

Fight free radicals that accelerate aging by loading up on antioxidants. You can tap into the anti-aging power of antioxidants in two ways:

Eat them

Add foods like goji berries, artichokes, dark chocolate, and green tea to your diet since all these items are loaded with antioxidants.

Put them on your skin

Antioxidant-rich skincare products can also protect your skin from environmental damage. You might see these on product labels as vitamin C, carotenoids, or resveratrol (from grape skins).

4. Practice good sleep hygiene

They don’t call it “beauty sleep” for nothing! Getting good quality sleep means that your body can repair itself, and that includes your skin. And thankfully, there is a lot of science that helps determine what creates a good night of sleep.

To get your beauty sleep, consider:

  • Using a silk pillowcase
  • Avoid blue screens (TVs, phones, tablets) for one to two hours before bed
  • Use “night mode” on electronic devices
  • Get morning sunshine (it helps set your circadian rhythm)
  • Sleep in a cool, dark room
  • Use a noise machine

This isn’t just solid advice for your skin; good sleep is essential for your entire mind and body.

5. Close your rings

Maybe you’re trying to close your rings on your smartwatch, or maybe you want to beat your record at the gym. In either case, activity — whether it’s walking around the block, Pilates, weightlifting, running, or hiking — is good for longevity.

According to a 2018 study, adults need 150-300 minutes of exercise each week. However, in a 2024 research article, adults who logged four times the recommended slashed all-cause mortality rates by 31%.

6. Eat a diet that makes you feel youthful

Load up on anti-inflammatory foods like leafy greens, nuts, fatty fish, and avocados. These nutrient-dense choices can keep your skin glowing, reduce inflammation, and support your wellness goals.

Not only do these foods promote healthy skin, but they also help you feel more youthful with more energy and fewer aches.

7. Consider intravenous (IV) vitamin therapy

For a more targeted approach, Dr. Ficchi may recommend IV therapy to hydrate you and deliver the vitamins you need. Common additives include magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin B (hello energy!), and calcium. These nutrients are delivered straight into your bloodstream, so they can bypass your digestive system.

8. Try peptide therapy

Peptide therapy can biohack your way to anti-aging by stimulating your body's natural production of hormones and proteins that repair and rejuvenate cells.

It helps boost collagen production, improve skin elasticity, and promote better sleep and energy levels — all of which are critical for maintaining a youthful appearance.
